¿Qué significa 'hoor' en neerlandés?
Hoor es la palabrita más amable del neerlandés. Se añade al final de una frase corta para suavizar, tranquilizar o indicar ‘no te preocupes’. Ja, hoor (claro, sí), nee, hoor (no, no hace falta), graag, hoor (con gusto, de verdad). No se puede traducir al español con una sola palabra, y quienes aprenden neerlandés desde el inglés suelen omitirla; los hablantes nativos notan ese vacío de inmediato.
Este video de charla de oficina está lleno de hoor: «Nee, hoor. Zwart is prima» (no, no hace falta, el café negro está bien), «Ja, hoor» (claro, dale), «Ja, gezellig» con la misma calidez. Hoor convierte intercambios secos entre compañeros en algo cercano. Quítalo del mismo diálogo y los interlocutores suenan cortantes.
