Would Rather
Expresa una preferencia personal. En el habla cotidiana, la forma más común con diferencia es «I'd rather + verbo base», usada cuando hablas de lo que TÚ quieres hacer: «I'd rather stay home.» «I'd rather not talk about it.» «I'd rather cry than laugh.» Para preferir lo que hace OTRA persona, el inglés cambia a «I'd rather + sujeto + past simple»: «I'd rather you didn't smoke.» «She'd rather we left now.» Esta segunda forma es menos común en conversación espontánea y tiene un tono ligeramente más formal o indirecto.
